She was born Aug. 8, 1922 in Sibley, Iowa, to John E. and Jennie (Schmidt) Groen.
During her life she lived in Sibley, Hastings, Neb., Vallejo, Calif., Roseburg, McMinnville and Sweet Home.
Irene loved playing cards, dancing, camping and traveling.
