The Linn Library League Bookmobile started operating on its winter schedule this week.
The winter schedule eliminates more remote stops, which can be hard to reach in bad weather, and reserves funds for longer hours from April to October when demand is higher, officials said.
Locally, the Bookmobile is at Glen’s Market from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays. Although times aren’t certain yet, the Bookmobile will stop at Sweet Home Charter School until the school’s own library is established.
The Bookmobile may be used by any Linn County resident at no charge. It is funded by a grant from the Meyer Memorial Trust and the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act. Its main purpose is to show rural Linn County residents the value of good library service.
