Leonard and Frances Olson of Sweet Home celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary at a dinner party with their family on March 4, 2006.
The couple met through friends in summer 1940 and married on March 6, 1941 at Ellendale, N.D.
The Olsons have made their home in Sweet Home since 1946 after moving from Aberdeen, S.D. In 1954, they started Olson’s TV & Radio and operated it for many years until their retirement in 1985.
Their children are Leota DeManette and her husband, Tom, of Lake Oswego; Leon Olson and his wife, Sandra, of Sweet Home; Leonard Olson Jr. and his wife, Terrie, of Eugene; and Pamela Hamer and her husband, Steve, of Apple Valley, Calif. They have 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
