The Sweet Home Alumni Foundation raised about $7,000 Saturday night at its first Christmas Tree Auction to be used for scholarships.
The auction grossed about $8,500 on 17 trees, ranging from one sold at $25 to one sold at about $650, and a variety of items sold in silent auction.
“We are thrilled because it’s the first one,” SHAF Secretary Coreen Melcher said. The auction drew about 70 persons following the Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
