School District 55 turned down a proposal to open a charter school for the 2004-05 school year last week.
Supt. Larry Horton reviewed an application from Sand Ridge Academy to create the school.
?They did not meet the board policy that requires the application be in by Jan. 15 of the year they want to open,? Supt. Horton said. ?Hopefully, they?ll reapply if they want to open up next year.?
