Persons who were a “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II or descendants are invited to help form a Rosie Chapter in Sweet Home.
A woman is eligible if her work or volunteer services occurred between 1941-45 and included any of the following:
–Employment in any sort of industry or government agency directly related to the war effort.
— Employment or self-employment in a capacity usually held by a man, thus releasing a man for military duty.
— Participation on a sustained basis in one or more volunteer activities related to the war effort.
Female descendants may also become members. They are called Rosebuds. Husbands of members and other male relatives may become auxiliary members by attending an official meeting of the association, local or national.
