Crawfordsville Community Church joined other interested persons in East Linn County in filling shoeboxes with Christmas goodies for children. Samaritan’s Purse, an Evangelical Christian organization that provides spiritual and physical aid to victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease and famine, has a goal this year of 7 million boxes. Crawfordsville Church filled 100 boxes; last year area churches provided 1,000 boxes. “It’s a practical way to help many children in first-world countries reach out to children around the world,” said Esther Bennett, part of the ministry team of Crawfordsville Church.
