“It’s fun and cool,” Shahalie Schrepfer of Albany said of her first time camping.
She was camped out with her grandmother, Melody Rodgers, high up Green Peter Lake toward Yellowbottom, along with her little brother, Jayson, and Rodgers’ fiancé Ed Hamarr, formerly of Sweet Home. Neither Jayson nor Shahalie had been camping before, but they enjoyed splashing around in the middle fork of the Santiam River.
