Alyssa Risen of Sweet Home has been named a United States National Award winner in journalism.
Risen, who attends Sweet Home Junior High, was nominated for the award by teacher Colleen Henry.
Risen’s name will appear in the United States Achievement Academy Official Yearbook, which is published nationally.
