Holme II Construction began working on a new bridge over Trout Creek on Highway 20 last week.
The bridge, located about 21 miles east of Sweet Home at milepost 49, will replace a culvert to improve fish passage upstream, Rick Silbernagle of Holme II said. The culvert is only a couple of inches deep. The bridge, with a natural streambed will provide pools for fish to move upstream.
The project requires an unusual approach.
