The Sweet Home City Council chose last week to reduce the amount it was seeking in a local option levy to fund library services for the next four years.
The City of Sweet Home will seek a levy of $181,771 in an election on May 20. That is an increase of 48.5 percent, from $122,384. The rate itself increases 44 percent, from 48 cents per $1,000 of property valuation to 69 cents per $1,000.
