Camas harvest, cool burnings talk of annual salmon feast

Members of several Native American tribes, for the first time in some 150 years, harvested camas bulbs from a restored camas prairie on the Sweet Home Ranger District.

Near Moose Creek on Thursday, as part of a program about using fire to manage forest lands, members of the tribes and visitors shared a lunch of bake salmon and camas.
