Sweet Home firefighters are attempting to raise funds to purchase a thermal imager, a special camera used to pierce the darkness of smoke-filled air and provide a picture of what’s going on inside a structure during a fire.
Fire departments have, typically, been soliciting funds from their communities to purchase the cameras, firefighter Dave Barringer said. Both Lebanon and Brownsville use the same thermal imager Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District would like to purchase.
