Willamette Industries has tentatively agreed to a hostile takeover bid by Weyerhaeuser, ending a three year hostile taker led by Weyerhaeuser Chairman and CEO Steve Rogel.
Monday, Willamette Industries said it would accept Weyerhaeuser’s latest offer of $55.50 per share, or $6.08 billion and take on $1.53 billion in debt owed by Willamette Industries.
Total value of the deal is $7.61 billion.
