Marj Kikel of Sweet Home received the Peg Hatfield Award from the Linn and Benton county chapters of the Red Cross for her years of service.
In addition, she received her 50-year service pin.
Kikel began organizing blood drives in Sweet Home in the early 1960s. Before that, she was involved with the Red Cross giving swimming lessons while attending college.
