Frank A. Thompson, 74, of Sweet Home died peacefully Dec. 17, 2019.
He was born Dec. 30, 1944 in Lebanon to Riley W. Thompson and Golda (Lawrence) Thompson.
He was raised and lived his life in Sweet Home and attended Sweet Home High School, class of 1964.
After high school, Mr. Thompson worked for Cascade Auto Wrecking in Lebanon and later for Cascade Handle.
He joined the City of Sweet Home Public Works Department in the mid-1970s and remained there until his retirement.
Mr. Thompson had a lifelong love of motorcycles, specifically Harley Davidsons, and owned several throughout his life.
He also loved classic cars and rebuilding his own 1950 Ford Pickup, which was his pride and joy.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Brenda (Opie) Thompson; brother Riley (Tuffy) Thompson of Whitehall, Mont.; sister Sissy (Thompson) Turner of Dallas; his children, Teresa Thompson, Larry Thompson, Wes Thompson, Karen Baugus, Franklin (Buck) Thompson, Danielle Thompson, Brandon Thomson, Elizabeth Healy and Colleen Healy; grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service is planned in Spring 2020 at Sankey Park in Sweet Home, a place that had special meaning to Mr. Thompson.
