Former Crawfordsville/Sweet Home resident Douglas O. Kincaid passed away July 20, 2019 in Portland after battling lung cancer for a year.
He was 67 years old.
He was born Dec. 20, 1951, the third son of Stanley and Nila Kincaid.
Doug graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1970. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August of 1970, and served in Vietnam during his four years aboard aircraft carriers.
He worked on the flight deck, helping to launch the planes. He later worked in aviation supply. He was honorably discharged in 1974.
After his time in the Navy, Doug lived in Texas, California and Michigan. He then moved back to Oregon in the Portland area.
He worked for 7-Eleven corporation for many years. He then started his own business, doing inventories of many retail stores for tax purposes.
Doug is survived by son Erick and daughter Andrea of Portland; older brother Danny of Goldendale, Wash.; sister Melanie of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his older brother, David; youngest brother Kirby; father Stanley; and mother Nila.
His ashes were spread in a favorite forest in Oregon.
