Ann Elizabeth Rice, 84, of Sweet Home died Dec. 15, 2018.
She was born May 27, 1934 in Scott City, Kan. to Christopher and Susan (Heimerman) Stockemer.
She came to Sweet Home in 1953 from Colorado and remained here for the rest of her life.
Mrs. Rice was a homemaker, mother, mill worker and fire watcher. She was deeply involved with Sweet Home Senior Centers quilting club and her church.
She enjoyed quilting, church and playing cards.
Mrs. Rice is survived by her husband Jim Rice of Sweet Home; sons Dan Carper of Sweet Home; Michael Carper of Ft. Benton, Mont., and Randy Carper of Sweet Home; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Whitton in 2015; and daughter Michelle Whitton in 1983.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Community Chapel.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Community Chapel on Ames Creek in Sweet Home or Sweet Home Senior Center.
