Linda Sue Mader, 75, of Sweet Home passed away June 26, 2018.
She was born Nov. 7, 1942 in Angels Camp, Calif. to Dewey and Alberta (Roberts) Gearin.
She spent her childhood in Oregon before moving to Porterville, Calif., where she graduated from high school.
She remained in California but relocated to Big Creek when she got married. She stayed in the mountain area, living in Auberry and working as the secretary to the principal at Sierra High School for 18 years until her retirement in 1993.
After retiring she made her home in Sweet Home, at Log Cabin Apple Farm.
Linda was an active member of St Helen Catholic Church and PEO. She was a friend to many.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, golfing, snow and water skiing and snorkeling. RV traveling, BBQs with family and friends were some of her favorite past times. She loved traveling to Hawaii (Maui), Canada, Europe, Ireland, Solomon Islands, Fiji, New Guinea and Mexico.
She also enjoyed sewing, crafts, entertaining and making stained glass.
Christmas time was her favorite season. She decorated every room in her house with a Christmas tree and decorations. During her spare time she would organize wreath making and do an annual Christmas Tree Cut.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Harold C. Mader; daughter Annette Lehman; and granddaughter Marissa Lehman, all of Sweet Home.
Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 20, at St. Helen Catholic Church. Memorial services will follow Rosary at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Association or PEO chapter FA.
