Janice Marie Stewart, 79, of Sweet Home died April 14, 2018 of cancer.
She was born Dec. 20, 1938 in Pulaski, Va. She was an only child.
She graduated from high school in Pulaski, where she was the only girl to serve as a cheerleader for five straight years.
After a year of college, she married David Kimmons. Their marriage lasted 15 years. She was later married to Aubrey Stewart, for 43 years.
Mrs. Stewart was a massage therapist. She was an artist, decorator and a gardener. She was known primarily for her compassion and generosity. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses for 54 years.
She is survived by her husband, Aubrey Stewart of Sweet Home; and her children, Diane, Amy, Mary Beth, David Paul, Jeremy and Jessica.
She was preceded in death by her son, John Kimmons.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4714 Highway 20.
