Mary Darlene Herbert, 80, of Sweet Home died Nov. 29, 2017.
She was born Aug. 21, 1937 in Delaware, Okla., to John Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Jefferies) Wilson.
She came to Sweet Home in 1958 and had lived here since then, except for a year in Lebanon and a year in Albany.
Darlene was baptized into the church by Reverend Shaliger.
She enjoyed shopping, crocheting blankets and rugs. Most of all, she loved to read her romance novels. Her favorite types of movies were old musical cowboy movies. Al Jolson and Calamity Jane were a couple of her favorites.
Darlene is survived by her three sons, Louis, Gary and Randie Wells, all of Sweet Home; daughter Sandra Carlynn Freeman of Sweet Home; brothers Glenn Wilson of Seattle, and Donnie Wilson and Marvin Wilson of Nebraska; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Herbert; sister Annie Lee Roberts; brother George Wilson; and niece Janie Ana Roberts.
Viewing will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
