Diane Keenon-Grant

Dec. 22, 1942 – Nov. 24, 2017 

Diane Keenon-Grant, 74, of Sweet Home passed away Friday, Nov. 24, 2017.

She was born Dec. 22, 1942 in Wright City, Okla. to William J. and Betty (Gaskey-Maxon) Brodie. 

She lived in Wright City until her family moved to Sweet Home in 1949. 

Diane worked at Safeway in Sweet Home for 22 years and then transferred to Safeway in Lebanon and worked there for seven more years until her retirement in 2005. 

She loved working and gardening in her yard. She enjoyed hunting and camping with her husband and friends.

She also enjoyed taking historical vacations and going on cruises with her family and friends. When it was time to relax, she would sit down in her chair and knit. She also loved to see her grandchildren and great- grandchildren, as they always put a smile on her face. 

Diane is survived by her husband Tom (Smokey) Grant Jr. of Sweet Home; children Karri Shipp of Springfield, and Rhonda and her husband Mark Thedford of Sweet Home; siblings Eve-lyn Maynard of Sweet Home, Jim and his wife Toni Brodie of Toledo; grandchildren Cody Shipp of Miami Beach, Fla., Trevor Shipp and Brittany Dearborn, both of Sweet Home, and Myranda Shipp of Springfield. 

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Larry Keenon, in 1986; daughter Teresa Keenon in 1965; mother Betty in 2012, stepfather Larry Maxon in 1986; and father William J. Brodie in 1995. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
