Jerry Fisher

Jerry Robert Fisher, 67, of Sweet Home died on the evening of Aug. 18, 2017 among loved ones after a long battle with dementia.
He was born July 2, 1950 in Rapid City, S.D. to John James and Frankie Maurine (Price) Fisher.
He grew up in the small town of Faith, S.D.
Mr. Fisher earned a mechanical engineering degree from the University of South Dakota School of Mines. Following college, he spent time working as an engineer in various parts of the country before settling in the Pacific Northwest. In 1998 he moved with his family to Sweet Home to focus on his property management business.
Mr. Fisher enjoyed spending time with his family and watching sports.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; sons Jeremy of Portland, Kelsey of West Linn and Stacey of Sweet Home; daughters Hailey and Molly, both of Sweet Home; siblings Randy Fisher, Dave Fisher and Colette Theel, all of South Dakota, Melanie Stewart of Arizona and Sherryl Short of Oregon.
Mr. Fisher was preceded in death by his parents John James and Frankie Maurine Fisher.
Viewing and Rosary will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at St. Helen’s Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Gilliland Cemetery.
