Donald Gene Denver, 88, of Sweet Home, recently of Bend, died May 3, 2017 in Bend.

He was born Aug. 6, 1928 in Corvallis to Roy Denver and Velma (Weaver) Denver Ammon.

He married Billie Eads in 1948. They moved to Lebanon in 1962, where they raised their two sons Dennis and Keith. They divorced in 1984. Mr. Denver then married Ellen Iverson in 1985, and added two daughters, Tressy and Tammy, and son Terry.

They lived in Sweet Home until September of 2016, then moved to Bend to be close to family.

Mr. Denver was a log truck driver for many companies in the Linn County area. He retired in 1994.

He was a charter member of the Lebanon Moose Lodge. He enjoyed playing bingo, visiting Reno, Nev. and the Spirit Mountain Casino, and loved to play keno.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Denver, sons Keith of Vancouver, Wash., and Dennis and daughter-in-law Joyce of Lebanon; step-daughters Tressy Iverson of Bend and Tammy Floyd of California; step-son Terry Iverson of Bend; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Bonnie Dimick.

Mr. Denver was preceded in death by both parents; brother Everett Denver; sister Evon Carper.; a grandson and two great-grandchildren.

Per his wishes, no services will be held.

Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home of Bend is handling the arrangements. Contributions in Mr. Denver’s memory may be made to the Lebanon Moose Lodge.

Daniel Gibbs

Jan. 21, 1958 – May 4, 2017

Daniel Eugene Gibbs, 59, of Sweet Home passed away Thursday. He was born in Salem, Mo. to Woodrow and Flossie Gibbs.

His family moved to Sweet Home in 1960, where he finished school.

Mr. Gibbs worked for Cascade Timber Consulting and other logging companies.

He enjoyed rock hunting, fishing, hunting and camping.

Mr. Gibbs is survived by his wife, Terry Gibbs of Sweet Home; children Jennifer Taylor of Vero Beach, Fla. and Tina Gibbs of Gold Hill; siblings David and Gregory Gibbs, both of Sweet Home, Junita May and Janice Miner of LaPine; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by siblings Donald in 1994, James in 2013, Winfred in 1967 and Joyce Partch in 1978.

Viewing will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at Gilliland Cemetery.
