Jackie Jeppsen of Sweet Home, 85, a retired logger, died Feb. 25, 2017 at his home.

He was born Aug. 22, 1931 in Mantua, Utah to James S. and Georgia O. Jeppsen.

He married Josephine (Jody) Bishop.

Mr. Jeppsen worked for more than 60 years in the logging industry. He had a passion for playing his steel guitar with his friends and family. While in school he even helped his family make a living by playing steel guitar at dances and radio stations.

Mr. Jeppsen was a huge San Francisco Giants fan. He also raised and trained racehorses with his wife and children.

He enjoyed hunting with his boys and their friends. He loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren fish in his pond and going to their sporting events.

Mr. Jeppsen is survived by his wife, Josephine Jeppsen; sons Dennis Jeppsen, Bret Jeppsen and Bart Jeppsen; daughters Sonja Bain and Tia Jeppsen; his twin sisters Carol Rice and Carollyn Saulmon; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was deeply loved and respected and will be truly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 12, at the Sweet Home Veterans Club.
