Reva Jo Jeffreys, 95, of Foster died Feb. 3, 2017.

She was born Feb. 1, 1922 in Kincaid, Ill. to Herbert Tillman and Eugenia Estelle (Bankston) Hughes.

She was a long-time resident of Sweet Home/Foster area. She was a school teacher for 30 years, in Sunnyside, Lake Oswego and Foster.

Mrs. Jeffreys loved gardening, homemaking and fishing with her husband. She was known as the “candy maker” and would give and send candy to family and friends from all over.

She is survived by stepchildren Virginia and son-in-law Charlie Freed of Central Point, Pamela and son-in-law Steven Smith of New Baden, Ill., and Tom Jeffreys of Foster; sister Maxine Martin of Sweet Home; brother George Hughes of Foster; sister-in-law Shirley Jeffreys LaRue; brothers-in-law Don Jeffreys and Johnny Jeffreys; nieces and nephews (who were like her own children) Valerie and husband Greg Goff, Kevin and wife Dayna Hughes, Judy Huntley, Rob Huntley, Barbara and husband Ken Scott; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jeffreys was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Jeffreys in 2014; stepson Robert “Bobby” Jeffreys in 1949; and nephew Kenneth Huntley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or SPCA.

A graveside service is planned for noon Friday, Feb. 10, at Lewis Cemetery.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
