Kenneth Johnston

Kenneth “Ken” Robert Johnston, 59, of Sweet Home passed away Friday January 13, 2017. He was born on January 28, 1957 in Medford, the son of Robert S. and Donna R. (Cline) Johnston.

He grew up in Medford. Mr. Johnston served in the U.S. Army from 1976 to 1979. After his time in the service, he moved to Eugene, where he lived until moving to Sweet Home in 2006.

Mr. Johnston worked for Sherman Bros./Team Transport for 28 years, earning many safety awards and he was part of the Million Mile Club.

He belonged to the PNW4WDA since 1995. He loved four-wheeling and building Jeeps.

He loved being with his family, especially his kids. He would only do things if his family could do them with him. He loved animals of all kinds.

Mr. Johnston is survived by his wife of 36 years, Venessa of Sweet Home; children Jasmine and Shane of Sweet Home, Angelique of Eugene, Geoffrey of Albany, and Jamine of Salem; mother Donna Cline of Phoenix; sisters Gale Wilson of Central Point and Sharon Vann of Fountain, Colo.; brother Gene Normand of Phoenix; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert S. Johnston (1957); and grandparents Ruth and Clifford “Curly” Johnston.

A celebration of life will be July 4 in Central Point.

Donations can be made in memory of Ken to the American Cancer Society or Shriners Hospital.
