Phyllis Helena Brown, 92, of Sweet Home died Oct. 5, 2016 in Lebanon.
She was born April 22, 1924 in Bangladesh, India to Olaf A. and Maude E. (Kipp) Skau.
She lived in Michigan and California when she was younger. She attended Pacific Union College in Angwin, Calif., where she met her husband Curtis L. Brown. They married June 26, 1949.
She lived with her husband and family in Alaska for a year before moving back to California from 1960 to 1962, then to Springfield in 1962, Madras in 1967, Laurelwood in 1968, Spirit Lake, Idaho in 1974, then to Cave Junction in 1995, eventually moving to Sweet Home in 2006.
Mrs. Brown was a homemaker for many years. She loved music, Pathfinders, church activities and especially her family. She enjoyed playing the organ for church, her life and her family.
Mrs. Brown is survived by four sons: Olaf and Lori Brown of Sprucedale, Ontario, Canada; Adrian and Judy Brown of Floresville, Texas; Galen and Peggy Ann Brown of Salem; Wendell and Debra Brown of Lebanon; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis L. Brown, in 2012; and three brothers, David Skau in 2002, Paul Skau in 2007, and Fredrick Skau as an infant in 1922.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
