Janet Marie Thill, 80, a longtime Sweet Home resident, died at her home Aug. 28, 2016.
She was born April 15, 1936 in Bayfield, Colo. the daughter of Marion and Thelma (Gill) Davis. She was raised in Holley and went to Sweet Home High School, where she was a yell leader her junior and senior years.
She married Richard “Dick” Thill on Aug. 1, 1953. The Thills owned and operated Wally and Son Auto Sales on Main St. until 1974 and Wally’s Apartments until 1993.
She was a Jacette and helped run the Sportsman’s Holiday for two years. The Thills gave a lot of their time and effort for the town of Sweet Home. Mrs. Thill spent 10 years living in Mesa and Apache Junction, Ariz. before returning to Sweet Home in 2010.
Mrs. Thill is survived by daughters Tonya Hutson and Suzette Jordan; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard “Dick” in 1987; daughter Brenda Black; and two great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the Huston-Jost Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday Sept. 8, at Community Chapel, 42250 Ames Creek Road, in Sweet Home. Burial will follow in Lewis Cemetery.
