Iris Mae Hemphill, 85, of Sweet Home died Feb. 27, 2016.
She was born March 25, 1930 in Mitchell, S.D. to Stanley Edward and Martha Grace (Harper) Tapp.
She lived in Brownsville, Seattle, the Oregon Coast, Goldendale, Wash., before moving to Sweet Home 50 years ago.
Mrs. Hemphill worked for White’s Electronics and retired from Hewlett Packard in Corvallis.
She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking, baking and sewing. She loved her family; they were her No. 1 priority.
Mrs. Hemphill is survived by her daughter Tony and son-in-law Paul Tenbusch of Sweet Home; brother Earl Tapp of Halsey; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edwin Hemphill; brother Verle Tapp; and her parents.
A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Sweet Home Elks Lodge.
