Floyd Eugene Chase, 88, of Sweet Home died Jan. 19, 2016.
He was born Jan. 8, 1928 in Springview, Neb. to Clem and Myrtle (Crow) Chase.
He served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1947. He received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan.
Mr. Chase worked in lumber mills, and around rock crushers with heavy equipment. He retired in 1995.
He enjoyed hunting and camping with his family.
Mr. Chase married Carolyn Nadine Chase and they later divorced. He married Judith Chase on March 31, 1962.
He is survived by his children, Carolyn and son-in-law Tom Berry of Keizer, Dale and son-in-law Chase of Salem, Gail McAdams of Dallas, Floyd Jr. and daughter-in-law Joy Chase of Lebanon, Steve and daughter-in-law Sherry Chase of Lebanon, and Jill Lacy of Keizer; sister Elsie and brother-in-law Gil Tipton of Alaska; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Gary Chase; and brothers Ronald, Bernard and Willard Chase.
Viewing will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Gilliland Cemetery .
