Michael Duane Jackson, 87, of Sweet Home died Jan. 13, 2016.

He was born Dec. 13, 1928 in Napa, Calif. to Clyde F.A. Jackson and Alice (Swartz) Falconer.

Mr. Jackson entered the Navy in 1948 and served until July of 1949. After his time in the service he became an auto and diesel mechanic and was known to many as a “Jack of All Trades.”

He was a member of the “Clampers” in California and was also a member of the Protestant religion.

He lived in numerous states: California, Illinois, Indiana, Virginia, and Maryland, before finally making his home in Sweet Home in 1991.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife, Winona Jackson of Sweet Home; sons Miles Falconer of Live Oaks, Calif. and Jeff and daughter-in-law Chris Falconer of Sweet Home; daughters Rita and son-in-law Bob McDevitt of Live Oaks, Calif.; Carol and son-in-law Don Toon of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Penny and son-in-law Greg Sparks of Springville, Ala., and Michelle and son-in-law Trent Butterfield of Turner; step-daughters Pateresa Mack of Salem, Vickie Headley of Albany and Brenda Morilli of Clackamas; siblings Doug Falconer of Waldport, Aloma Crayton of Harrisburg and Fran Baughman of Phoenix, Ariz.; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by spouse Frances Fay (Williams) Jackson; great-grandson Christopher Garrett; brothers John, Ted, Jackie and Chuck; and sisters: Pat, Vicki, and two sisters who died in infancy.

A celebration of life is planned for noon Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Sweet Home VFW.

Donations can be made in his name to Safehaven Humane Society.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
