Patricia Irene Stratman

Dec. 26, 1933 – Nov. 25, 2015, Patricia Irene Stratman, 81, of Sweet Home, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015.

She was born Dec. 26, 1933 in Salem to Orrin and Minnie (Keizer) Pickert.

Pat grew up on the family homestead in Sweet Home and graduated from Sweet Home Union High School in 1951.

Her husband, Roger, was a serviceman and the family lived in many places: California, Florida, Tennessee, Washington, Hawaii, and Okinawa, Japan, before returning to Sweet Home in 1970.

During her years of employment she was a typesetter, library clerk, hotel maid and art gallery clerk.

She enjoyed family events, traveling, dollhouses and miniatures and classical music. She also had a great interest in environmental causes.

Pat is survived by her son, Robert Stratman and his wife Nancy of Sweet Home; grandson Ray (wife Kari) Stratman and seven great-grandchildren, of Sweet Home; grandson Edwin (wife Trina) Stratman and two great-grandchildren of Grants Pass; grandson Jeffrey Stratman of Eugene; granddaughter Katie (husband Michael) Henthorne of Kenai, Alaska; and granddaughter Rhea (husband Eric) Falig and three great-grandchildren of Sedalia, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Dale Stratman; and son John Michael Stratman.

No services will be held at this time, at her request. Family and friends are welcome to join in a celebration of Pat’s life, to be determined at a later date.

Those wishing to do so, may remember her with a small donation to a local animal shelter or to a favorite charity.
