Noreeta Bryant

Oct. 24, 1937 – Nov. 20, 2015

Reeta Sue Bryant, 78, of Sweet Home died Nov. 20, 2015.

She was born Oct. 24, 1937 in Indianapolis, Indiana to William Leo and Edna Lyall (Everroad) Jarboe.

She was raised in Indiana where she met and married the love of her life and best friend, Floyd Delmar Bryant, “Del” as he was known by all. She began the life of a military wife.

Mrs. Bryant liked to travel, and camp. She enjoyed NASCAR and doing genealogy.

As a military wife she always found she was employable as a professional switchboard operator anywhere in the States. She and her husband had a deal that she would go into nursing after he retired from the Army, so after her children were mostly through school Mrs. Bryant went back to school and obtained her RN degree and had a fulfilling career working at Lebanon Community Hospital.

She worked in several areas including maternity and finishing as a night shift supervisor.

Her biggest joy was her family. The Bryants raised four children.

Mrs. Bryant is survived by her children, Karen and son-in-law LeRoy Hegge, Sharon Bryant, Michael Bryant and daughter-in-law Janette, and Mark Bryant and partner Ellen Sanders; sisters Louise, Lucy, Helen and Nancy; seven grandchildren; 7½ great-grandchildren; and in-laws Shirley, Art, Annie, Vickie, Tom, Mona, and JoAnne.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Del Bryant, in 1997; brothers Samuel Almon and Leo Junior; and brothers-in-law Howard, Jim, Orville and Karel.

A celebration of life is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday Dec. 5, at Crawfordsville Community Church.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
