Janette H. McCollum, 95, of Sweet Home died Nov. 7, 2015.
She was born Jan. 21, 1920 in Spirit Lake, Idaho to Lewis Andrew and Kathryn Janette (Schinzel) Herbert.
While growing up, she lived in Spirit Lake and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and in Cannon Beach, where she graduated from Seaside High School. She married Eugene Raymond McCollum in Raymond, Wash.
The McCollums moved to Harrisburg and worked on the Rip Rap River. In 1939 they moved to Upper Soda to work on the Highway 20 project, then to Sweet Home in 1940.
Mrs. McCollum was a domestic worker and developed film. She loved gardening, sewing, quilting and fishing.
Mrs. McCollum is survived by sons Jim and daughter-in-law Betty McCollum of Lacomb and Jerry and daughter-in-law Bonnie McCollum of Sweet Home; a sister, Margie Lillich of Sweet Home; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Raymond McCollum; son Pat McCollum; brother Harold Herbert; and parents Louis and Kathryn Herbert.
Services were private.
