Jo Ella Lutton, 82, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, July 15 at her home.
Jo was born April 18, 1933 in Fayetteville, Arkansas the daughter of John and Zelma Rose (Hoskins) McCustian.
She received her early education in Arkansas before moving to Sweet Home and graduating from Sweet Home high School in 1951.
Jo then attended Business College in Tulsa, Okla. for a year before returning to Sweet Home. Jo eventually went on to receive an associate’s degree from Linn- Benton Community College.
Jo married John Lutton on Aug. 22, 1953 in Sweet Home. The couple resided in Sweet Home where Jo worked as executive secretary for Timber Service for 16 years. They moved to Lebanon in 1975, where they have resided since.
Jo was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lebanon. She enjoyed quilting and embroidery.
She is survived by her husband John of Lebanon; son Terry Lutton of Portland; daughter Rachel Whitehead of Lebanon; brothers Marion McCustian of San Antonio, Texas and Joe Michael McCustian of Eugene; sisters Wanda Vinson of Eugene and Johnny Ruth Kyriss of Albany; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Vera Gabriel.
Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 21 at Huston-Jost Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, at Trinity Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
