Larry Dean Curtis, 60, of Deer Island, formerly of Sweet Home, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015.
He was born in Hood River to Lee and Ellen (Marsh) Curtis.
He graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1973. He served in the United States Air Force as an MP. After the service he worked as a truck driver, tree planter and grocery store stock manager.
Larry enjoyed running marathons and he competed in more than 12 marathons with best time of 2:56:13. He liked hunting, fishing and swimming across the lake and basketball. Larry loved spending time with his brothers, sisters and many nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife Diane Chamberlain of Deer Island; ex-wife Jodie Zurfluh of Albany; father Lee A. Curtis of Payson, Utah; brothers: Richard L. Curtis of Elk Ridge, Utah, Skeeter and his wife Sabrina of Sweet Home; sisters Vicki and her husband Phil Coy of Vancouver, Wash., Lorena Trejo of Sweet Home, Debra and her husband Jim Erickson of Sweet Home; 17 nieces and nephews; several great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother Ellen Jane Curtis; and brother David Allen Curtis.
Graveside services were held July 3, at Lewis Cemetery in Foster.
