Anthony (Tony) Brian Miner, 55, of Sweet Home died June 19, 2015.
He was born Aug. 12, 1959 in Sweet Home to James M. and Dorothy (Dickinson) Miner. He grew up in Sweet Home and graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1980. Following high school Mr. Miner worked for Willamette Valley Rehab in Lebanon and Sunshine Industries in Sweet Home. Over the years, he lived in various places around Linn County.
Mr. Miner was an avid sports fan. He especially loved football, with his favorite teams being the Sweet Home Huskies and Oregon Ducks. He ran the chain for many years at most of the Husky football games. He also participated in many Special Olympic events, including bowling and basketball.
In 2006 he married his soulmate, Angela Halsey, who preceded him in death in 2009.
Mr. Miner is survived by his brothers David, Danny and sister-in-law Jan Miner; Dale, Mike and sister-in-law Helen; Ron, Ted and sister-in- Mindy, and Bill and sister-in-law Cindy; sisters Ethel Gray and Sharon Miner; brother-in-law John Baugus and sister-in-law Maureen Miner; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother- and father-in-law, Linda and Danny Halsey, who were with him until the very end.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Miner was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jimmy, Joe, Bobby and Lloyd; and sister Joyce (Miner) Baugus.
Contributions in his name can be made to Sunshine Industries Unlimited of Sweet Home. A graveside service was held June 26 at Willamette Memorial Park.
