Beulah Cowan

March 7, 1920 – June 20, 2015

Beulah Maxine Cowan, 95, of Sweet Home died peacefully in her home with family by her side on June 20, 2015.

She was born March 7, 1920 in Hubbard to Oliver and Florene (Burk) King.

She married Albert Cowan on March 4, 1945 in Hubbard and settled in Sweet Home in 1947.

Mrs. Cowan helped families with their children and was happiest when holding babies. She found great pleasure fishing at Foster Lake, gardening, singing and sharing about her Savior.

She is survived by her husband Albert; son Terry and daughter-in-law Karen Cowan, daughter Cheryl and son-in-law Tony Kowalczik, son Keith and daughter-in-law Jeanne Cowan, son Alan and daughter-in-law Julie Cowan, and daughter Carlene and son-in-law Dan Dettwyler; sister Eunice King; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cowan was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Norma Kauffman and Doris Hooley; and brothers Lyle, Howard and Hadley King.

A graveside service is planned at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at Gilliland Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at Sweet Home Mennonite Church.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
