Dennis James Harper, 52, of Sweet Home died April 22, 2015.
He was born March 18, 1963 in Enterprise.
In 1983 he married Christine Lavato and they had four children together. Following their separation, Mr. Harper later married Shannon Tucker.
He had a love for sports, especially football and the Dallas Cowboys – a love shared with his brother. Mr. Harper also enjoyed history. He was a devout Baptist and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Harper is survived by his daughter, Tiffanie Harper and her fiancé Hunter Green of Waldport; daughter Cynthia and son-in-law Chapo Rodriguez of Vancouver, Wash.; son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Kimberly of Albany; son Nicholas Harper of Newport; stepsons Brandon and Tyler of Roseburg; mother Bonnie and step-father Ken Gregory of Sweet Home; brother Dirrell Harper of Sweet Home; sister Shalene and brother-in-law Glen Gill of Sweet Home; six grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dirrell Harper.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at the First Baptist Church, 2470 E Main St. in Sweet Home.
A potluck at the VFW Hall will follow the memorial service.
