Belton B. “Tex” Ashcraft, 84, of Sweet Home, died April 27, 2015.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1930 in Columbus, Miss., the son of Belton C. and Maude (Ponds) Ashcraft.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1962.
Mr. Ashcraft liked fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He also enjoyed tinkering with electronics and photography.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian “Lonnie” Ashcraft of Sweet Home; children James Ashcraft, Joseph and daughter-in-law Kristen Ashcraft, and Lorene and son-in-law Henry Romandia, all of Sweet Home; brother Don Ashcraft and sister-in-law Lu of Las Vegas, Nev.; seven grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and two nieces.
A celebration of life with military honors is planned for 1 p.m. Friday, May 1, at his son Joe’s home.
