RUTH HORN

Dec. 26, 1921 – Feb. 27, 2015

Ruth J. Horn, 93, of Sweet Home died Feb. 27, 2015 at the Wiley Creek Assisted Living Facility in Sweet Home.

She was born Dec. 26, 1921 in Naper, Neb., the daughter of Rollin and Augusta (Anderson) Kibby. She grew up in Naper, where she attended school, graduating from Naper High School in the Class of 1939. After high school, she moved west, settling in Hood River for a short time. She lived in several communities in Oregon before moving to Sweet Home in 1949.

She married John Horn in Stevenson, Wash. on May 15, 1940.

Mrs. Horn attended the Sweet Home Assembly of God Church and later the Lebanon First Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling, camping, fishing and golfing. She also enjoyed following her boys as they played sports.

Mrs. Horn is survived by three sons, Stanley and daughter-in-law Dianna Horn of Lebanon, Dennis Horn and daughter-in-law Marlene Teel of East Helena, Mont., and Thomas and daughter-in-law Kathy Horn of Sweet Home; a daughter, Jeneane Dunmyer of Tualatin; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband John on Oct 13, 2009; and by two brothers and one sister.

A graveside service was held March 9 at Gilliland Cemetery near Sweet Home.

Huston-Jost Funeral Home is in care of final arrangements.
