Lloyd Miner

Feb. 4, 1954 – Feb. 24, 2015

Lloyd Carl Miner, 61, of Albany died Feb., 24, 2015.

He was born Feb. 4, 1954 and raised in Sweet Home, the son of James Monroe and Dorothy Alice (Dickinson) Miner. He graduated in 1972 from Sweet Home High School.

Mr. Miner attended Arizona Automotive Institute, graduating in 1975.

In 1977 he joined the United States Navy, where he served a tour of duty as a mechanic; he was discharged in 1982 from the Navy Reserve.

Over the years Mr. Miner worked in various construction jobs, including 15 years with the family-owned business.

He enjoyed camping, woodworking, cars and car racing, and racing his own Nova at Woodburn Dragstrip. He was an awesome and great uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Miner is survived by his siblings: David, Ethel, Dan, Mike, Dale, Ron, Ted, Sharon, Tony and Bill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Joyce; and brothers Jimmy, Joe and Bobby.

A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Cornerstone Fellowship Church,1234 Long St., Sweet Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sweet Home Funeral Chapel to defray expenses, or to Special Olympics.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
