Lola Adams

April 16, 1922 – Jan. 8, 2015

Lola Mae Adams, 92, of Sweet Home died Jan. 8, 2015.

She was born April 16, 1922 in Leedey, Okla. to John Wade and Thelma Christine (Nowell) Quattlebaum.

She lived in in Leedey, and then in the California communities of Porterville, Buttonwillow, Woodville and Springville until 1991, when she moved to Sweet Home.

Mrs. Adams was the owner of a country store, a dress shop manager, retired from working at Bank of America, and sold real estate in California before coming to

Oregon.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the International Arabian Horse Association and the Sweet Home Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening, genealogy, raising Arabian horses, lapidary, philately and numismatics.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her children, Jack Adams of Sweet Home and Edith Raymond of Hilmar, Calif.; siblings Mary Harmon of San Francisco, Calif. and Hazel “Kurla” Fry of San Jose, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Adams (2006).

A graveside service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
