Janet M. Martin, 80, of Sweet Home, died Dec. 17, 2014.
She was born Oct. 28, 1934 in The Dalles to Ora R. and Hazel M. (Gilman) Workman.
She graduated from Wasco High School in 1952 and entered the nursing program at Lewis and Clark College that fall. She married Lee Eugene Martin on April 20, 1956 in Goldendale, Wash.
Mrs. Martin spent her adult life in nursing. She began at The Dalles General Hospital and spent most of her career at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, spending 30 years in surgery at Good Samaritan.
She was very active with the Lebanon and Sweet Home Elkettes, spending the last 10 years with the Sweet Home chapter.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lee Martin of Sweet Home; son Michael Murray Martin of Bend; and daughter Erin Lee Wiggins of Albany; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan (2009).
Mrs. Martin’s family thanks all the relatives, friends and well wishers for their care and love. She was much loved and will be missed by many. Donations may be made in her name to the Cancer Society of Oregon.
