Aug. 20, 1947 – Dec. 25, 2014
Judith Lynn Miller, 67, of Sweet Home, died Dec. 25, 2014.
She was born Aug. 20, 1947 in Eugene to James Anderson and Vera Love (McDonald) Davis. She was born to a large family with one sister, Shirley, and five brothers, Jimmie, Ron, Don, Mack and Chuck.
Mrs. Davis worked in banks and for Nike’s payroll department for many years before she and her husband, Steve, went into business for themselves.
From 1995 to 2010 they owned and operated their own truck, hauling sensitive freight in and out of the lower 48 states as well as Canada. With no accidents, Mrs. Davis received many letters of commendation for safety. She and her husband Steve laughingly called their jobs prior to trucking “real jobs in the real world.”
The Davises moved to Sweet Home about five years ago. They had eventually planned on retiring and fishing the lakes in and around the area. However, their lives took a drastic turn and Mrs. Davis began her long battle with breast cancer. Mr. Davis went to work for the Sweet Home School District.
Her grandkids, Austin and Jessika, were her everything. She only allowed joy, laughter and happiness during their visits. Their love and smiles lit up her life.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years Steve Miller; son Jeff Miller; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Her siblings all married with families of their own, giving her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Vera; and youngest brother, Chuck (August 2014).
There will be no memorial services at this time. Donations made to any reputable cancer foundation would be appreciated.
Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
