Delaine Wallace Erickson Sr., 79, of Sweet Home, died Nov. 19, 2014. He was born Feb. 26, 1935 in Gary, Minn. to Edward and Clarinda (Troite) Erickson.
Mr. Erickson worked in the oil fields in North Dakota before moving and settling in Sweet Home in 1960. He worked for Willamette Industries until retiring in 1997. He enjoyed farming, gardening, and spending time with his children and grandchildren and his dogs.
He is survived by his children, Lorna Chillas of Redding, Calif., Linda Erickson of Lebanon, Tammy Grizzle of Sweet Home, Julie Philpot of Lebanon and Delaine Erickson Jr., of Sweet Home; three brothers, Merlin Erickson of Salem, Lowel Erickson of Albany and Bob Erickson of Washington; one sister, Shirley Davis of Sisters; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Mr. Erickson was preceded in death by his wife, Leatrice (2008); brothers Alan Erickson and Roger Erickson; and his parents.
A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.
