Lester Edward Scott, 94, of Sweet Home died May 18, 2014.
He was born April 1, 1920 in Tracy, Minn. to Irving and Mary (Edwards) Scott.
Mr. Scott moved to Seattle, Wash. in 1956 to work for Boeing. He made trips trips to South Africa and Germany to train coworkers on flap assembly. He moved to a 40-acre farm in Onalaska, Washington in 1970 and did carpentry work at that time. He moved to Sweet Home in 1984.
He loved woodworking, gardening, western books and pie.
Mr. Scott is survived by his children, Lowell and daughter-in-law Pat Scott of Seattle, Wash., Anita and son-in-law John Lewis of McMinnville, Connie Newell and Jan and son-in-law “Bud” Ralph Lindau, all of Sacramento, Calif., Jeanne Asai of Arizona, Laurie and son-in-law Mike Kennedy of Sweet Home; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Louise (Foster) Scott, in 2013.
A funeral service is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday, May 22, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel, with final burial at Gilliland Cemetery.
