Martin “Jim’” Oliver Maynard, 72, of Sweet Home died Dec. 8, 2013.
He was born May 29, 1941in Orchard Rural, Neb. to Ivan and Nellie (Warnke) Maynard.
Mr. Maynard served as a United States Marine. He worked as a long haul truck driver and a log truck driver for most of his life. He retired from Wimer Logging in 2000. He loved working on old cars and reading western books.
Mr. Maynard is survived by his wife, Evelyn Maynard; sons Daniel Maynard and Jimmy Dean Maynard; daughter Leslie Maynard; step-sons, Michael and wife Ellen Petermen, and Jeff and wife Traci Petermen; sister Kay and brother-in-law Bill Cope; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec.18 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel, with a reception following.
