Robert Roy Combs, aka “Basic Bob,” 61, of Sweet Home, died suddenly in his home on Aug. 1, 2013.
He was born April 29, 1952 in Oakland, Calif. to Robert and Joanne (Greathouse) Combs and graduated from high school in Concord, Calif.
Mr. Combs was a man of many talents, demonstrating this in his professions. He was a truck driver and iron worker. He restored classic cars, and many homes in this area have seen his remodeling touch. Among his favorite activities were gold panning, watching “Gold Fever” every Saturday, coaching track, encouraging young people to do their best and spending quality time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Combs is survived by his wife Lorri; children Tammy, Travis, and Tyrell Combs, Melissa Putney, Candice Plett, Nathan and Ethan Rowe; and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Bobby.
A celebration of Mr. Combs’ life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Holley Church.
